Items you will need to complete this tutorial:
1: Tronds 1 Filter - I have searched the internet for this filter and cannot find it anywhere now since Tronds 2 came out. It is a freeware filter so I am offering Tronds 1 and Tronds 2 as a single download. This download is approximately 1.7 mb.
2: An image of your own choice.
3: A bevel filter of some kind or use PSP's own beveller which I have done in the above sample image.
Step 1:
Open your image and make two (2) copies, close the original and minimize one of the copies.
Step 2:
My screen shot of the Tronds Filter may look different to you if you have installed Tronds into your PSP program. I have imported mine into Filters Unlimited version 2. It's ok to have them installed into PSP the setting numbers will still be the same.
Go Effects/plugins/Tronds/Star 1 and accept the defaults.

Step 3:
Go Effects/Image Effects/Seamless Tile and reset to defaults, then click ok.
Step 4:
Bring up your other copy of the image, then go Image/Add Borders and type in anything from 20 up but don't make it too large your color can be any color it does not matter because of what we do in step 5..
Step 5:
1. Set your foreground color to pattern,
2. Make your Magic Wand the active Tool
3. Click on the added border.
4. Go Selections/Promote to layer
5. Flood fill the border with your pattern you made and tiled. Then de-select.
Step 6:
Be sure you are on the upper layer the one you just promoted to layer. With your Magic Wand Tool click in the center bland area.
Step 7:
Go Effects/3D Effects/Cutout and apply the settings below or choose a number that you like. When choose the color click on the color swatch from within the cutout filter and choose a color you like from your image.

Step 8:
This step is important if you want your cutout effect to be totally around your image. While the marching ants are still moving add a new layer in the Layer Control Box. Then Repeat the Cutout but this time use a - (minus) of the same number that you used in step 7.
Step 9:
In your layer control box turn off your bottom layer.
Step 10:
Go Selections/Select All. Then go Selections/Modify and choose Contract then add the "Same Number" you used to add your border.
Step 11:
Now go Effects/3D/Inner Bevel and use the below settings or something you like better, the only thing here that is a must is your color swatch needs to be white.

Step 12:
In your layer box make sure all layers are visible the right click any layer and choose Merge Visible.
At this point you may add another thin border and color it what you want as I did in the sample image. Here is a sample that has no extra border. You may like yours to not have that extra border.

This completes this tutorial and I hope you enjoyed doing it as much as I have in creating it.
