Coloring Those Tif Images Made Easy

In this tutorial I am only showing "HOW" to get those pesky "TIF" images ready to paint or ready for Stained Glass. Here is mine done in Stained Glass.

Sample of Completed Image

Items you will need for this tutorial:

1. The "TIF" image that is in the download.

2. Super Blade Pro

3. My Super Blade Pro Silver Presets if you want to make your image into a Stained Glass Window like I did.

Skill Level I believe is any skill level.

Step 1:

Open the TIF image in PSP and make a copy of it by typing Shift-d at the same time.

Step 2:

Resize the image to about 85%

Step 3:

Go Image/Increase Color Depth RGB 8 Bits/channel.

Increasing Color Settings

Step 4:

In your Layer Control Box double click on the word Background to make it into a Raster layer.

Create Raster out of Background

Step 5:

Make your Magic Wand the active tool and click anywhere on the black lines. Then go Selections/Modify/Select Color Range.

Selecting Color Range

Make the color block black if it is not already black. Use these settings

Color Range Settings

Step 6:

Go Selections/Modify/Expand and type in the number 1.

Step 7:

Make your foreground color black and then make your "Airbrush" the active tool and spray all black lines.

Air Brush Tool

Air Brush Settings

Step 8:

Your image is now ready for you to Paint or make into a Stained Glass image.

This completes this tutorial and I hope you enjoyed doing it as much as I have in creating it.
