For this tutorial you will need the following:
Paint Shop Pro version 8, 9, or 10
I don't think Corel still have the 8 and 9 versions of PSP but you could give it a try. They do have Version 10.
The above links open in a new window.
These Files Place the q file and the two bit map images into your Super Blade Pro Environments and Textures folder, place the two 8bf files into your plugins folder (these are transparency filters). Place the other images where ever you can find them to work with them.
Step 1:
Open the xmas bell psd image and make a copy. Close the original and work with the copy. Save the copy as xmas-bell.psp.
Step 2:
Using your magic wand with a settings below. Touch a piece of the black (make it a good piece)
Step 3:
Go Selections/Modify Select Similar and use the setting below the settings below

At this point you will see All the black has been selected. Do not deselect yet!
Step 4:
Go Selections/ Load/Save Selection/Save selection to Alpha Channel

Step 5:
Add a new layer to your image. Make your new layer the active layer. Now go Selections/Load/Save Selection/Load Selection from Alpha Channel.
Now turn off the bottom layer by clicking on the glasses in the layer control panel. Leave the Ants Marching on your bell image.
Step 6:
For this step I prefer to use the Air Brush Tool
Make your air brush tool the active tool and then make your foreground color White. Brush the white color all over the bell image.
Step 7:
It's now time to use the q file and the bmp files to create the gold outline for the bell. Go Effects/Plugins/Flaming Pear/SuperBladePro.
Find the Copy of LG_Gold preset and apply it to your whitened image.
You may apply the same preset twice if you like to give it more presence.
Step 8:
Make your bottom layer the active layer and click on the eye to open the layer again so you can see the black and white image.
Step 9:
Go Effects Plugins/Transparency and choose Eliminate White.

Don't freak out now when you see all that black. The transparent portion is what you will be saving to your Alpha Channel.
Step 10:
Using your magic wand tool, click in the center of the bell on the transparent portion. Now go Selections/

Step 11:
Go Selections/Deselect. Your bottom layer should still be the active layer if it is not then make it the active layer, then add a new layer and you should have the below.
Step 12:
Make your new layer the active layer and be sure that you have no marching ants moving. Now go Selections/Load from Alpha Channel and choose selection # 2 by clicking on the black arrow.

Leave the marching ants moving this time and open up the Santa.psd image or choose one of your own. Go Edit/Copy and then go Edit/Paste into Selection.
and deselect.
Step 13:
Your Santa layer should still be active if not make it so now. Also make sure you have marching ants. Add a new layer again and you should have this.
Step 14:
Make your new layer the active layer and again Go Selections/Load from Alpha Channel and again choose the selection #2. Now we will add some glass to make the bell image seem almost like Porcelain. Here is where the EyeCandy 4000 comes in. Please use the settings you see below, and there are several screen shots.
Click on the settings tab and choose Clear Glass
To choose a color for your glass, Click on the eye dropper tool and hover over the Santa image and choose the color you want to use.

Now play with the sliders until you have something that you like and click ok.

Step 15:
Delete the bottom layer and then merge the other layers. Do not flatten the image.
At this point you are finished creating your Xmas Bell. You can make it smaller, add a wooden handle or even a pretty bow. Below are samples of each.
