This is what you will be making.

Skill Level:
Intermediate to Advanced. There is also something different again about this tutorial. Because I want you to experiment I am not giving you any Pre-Sets to go with your Filters :-) This way you know that your work will be unique to you and not just a carbon copy of the tutorial. I also encourage people to play with the settings I give. See if there is a setting you like better!

What you will need to complete this tutorial:
Jasc PSP 8
Flaming Pears Super Blade Pro or Blade Pro (if you have it)
An image of your choice or the one below. Save to your hard drive.



The hardest part of this tutorial will be the choosing of an image. The best image for this would be one where the subject you want to frame is in the middle of the image or very close to being in the middle.

Step 1:
Open your image and make a copy of it and close the original then promote the background to layer.

Step 2:
Using the Selection Tool set on the Star Shape 2 with a feather of 10 select the part of the image that you are going to frame. Do not de-select. ( This may take a few tries to get the proper selection. You have to Start making the selection in the upper left part just above and to the left of the piece you are selecting. )
